Custom Engineered Commercial Doors

Custom Commercial Doors

Commercial settings have many demands for their overhead doors. In industrial facilities, they need to be secure and weather resistant. In high-end, customer-facing buildings, they must contribute to the architectural appeal. Many industries have unique needs and even regulatory requirements for their garage doors. The doors themselves also need to fit snugly in the space provided.

With the range of sizes a commercial facility might need, it’s no wonder most companies need custom-sized overhead doors. We offer a wide selection of customizable doors for many corporate or industrial needs.

Custom Size Commercial Doors

When most businesses start their hunt for a custom made commercial door, the number one concern is size. Industrial facilities and warehouses often have specific size requirements for their doors because of the large equipment, vehicles and deliveries that pass through. Other commercial properties need small overhead doors to act as counter shutters for shops or booths.  At Marvin’s Garage Doors, we can install custom size rollup and sectional doors that are made to fit your opening. Most Clopay® commercial garage doors can be custom fitted to your facility’s needs. Commercial door widths range from 4 feet and 2 inches to 36 feet and 2 inches. Heights range from 4 feet to 26 feet tall. Both the heights and widths come in 2-inch increments, made to order. We also offer Megadoors for oversized commercial door needs. Often used for aircraft hangars and shipyards, these fabric doors can be manufactured to any height. They can also be used to create a multi-door system to fit nearly any width.

Custom Commercial Doors Available

The first step to finding a custom garage door is selecting the type you want. We offer many different styles for a range of purposes, and each has their own set of optional features and designs.

1. Overhead Sectional Doors

We offer several types of sectional commercial doors in custom sizes and designs, including:

  • Architectural Series: These aluminum full-view garage doors allow in plenty of light and complement a modern industrial design. Businesses can use them to show off their fleet or all the action going on indoors. They’re excellent for car dealerships, firehouses or any company that needs a trendy, distinct appearance.
  • Clopay Energy Series: These doors come with either polystyrene or Intellicore® insulation. Powerful insulation options preserve your energy efficiency and keep your building more comfortable.
  • Industrial Series: The Industrial Series doors are built for performance and come in a variety of customizable options. Choose from ribbed and flush styles or embossed patterns replicating woodgrain and stucco. Their design options include windows and full-view configurations.

2. Rolling Steel Doors

Compared to the traditional sectional doors, like those used for residential properties, custom rollup doors offer several advantages. They require less headroom and sideroom since they open into a compact coil above the door. They also use less hardware, which means less maintenance. When looking for a custom size rollup door, you have several options:

  • Fire doors: Facilities that work with combustible materials or are subject to fire codes benefit from fire-rated rollup doors. These fire-resistant doors automatically close in response to a fire alarm. You can also select from more features for added protection.
  • Counter shutters: Counter shutters let businesses lock up service windows, concession stands and ticket booths. They work on the same principles as rollup doors and add security to your customer-facing areas.
  • Service doors: We offer standard and custom-sized rollup service doors from trusted brands like Cookson and Chi. They’re fantastic for warehouses, loading docks, service garages and other industrial applications.
  • Chain link and security screens: Give your retail location extra security with these doors. Grilles offer protection without sacrificing visibility and airflow.

3. High Speed and Fabric Doors

We offer wide selection of fabric doors, many of which also feature faster cycle speeds than traditional doors. Fabric doors are lightweight and excellent for pharmaceutical and food storage applications. They’re not susceptible to dents while protecting against temperature and air loss. Industries where every second counts that also need theft and weather protection may benefit from our variety of high-speed rollup doors.

4. Hollow Metal Doors

Ouhollow metal doors come with either push bars or handle levers. Made from durable 18 gauge A40 galvanized steel, they offer many customization options and can fit any door frame. Fire-rated and insulated options are available. You can also outfit the doors with ventilation louvers or glass panels.

5. Wash Bay Doors

Car washes and businesses that must wash their equipment have unique wash bay overhead door needs. They often look for full view styles to watch over the cleaning process while protecting the surrounding area from the spray. Of course, these doors need to be reliable, water- and corrosion-resistant and easy to clean. For these purposes, we offer polycarbonate and vinyl door options. Many offer breakaway bottoms, wind resistance, weather seals and other customization options.

6. Strip Doors

Our strip curtain doors restrict airflow while allowing people and equipment to access the area easily. The PVC strips are curved and fit together to create a seal, easily broken when a person or vehicle passes through. They can reduce noise and energy loss while stopping dirt, dust, birds, insects and fumes. We customize our strip doors to the size and intended use, paying particular attention to the doorway height to ensure the tightest fit.

Commercial Door Custom Accessories and Add-Ons

At Marvin’s Garage Doors, you can select many features to improve your door’s function. Between advanced safety and increased accessibility, you have many customization options.

1. Pass Doors

One of our most popular customization options is to include a pass door within the overhead door. When there’s no room to install a separate entry door, a pass door offers easy access without the need to lift the entire door. Pass doors blend in with the texture and design of the rest of the door. They reduce wear and tear on the hardware and conserve energy by creating a smaller opening when in use.

2. Break-Away Bottom Sections

When someone makes a miscalculation while driving, an impact with the bottom of the door can have many consequences. Breakaway doors have specialty hardware, allowing the bottom panel to bend on contact. Our breakaway bottoms will fold 45 degrees both ways to avoid damage to the door, the vehicle or the driver. They’re easy to reset yourself, so you can avoid making service calls for these types of accidents.

3. Loading Dock Equipment

We’re proud to offer all the equipment loading docks need. The most common requirement is a seal. Dock seals create a barrier between the truck and the door frame. This feature saves energy and prevents dirt, birds and insects from entering a facility during loading and unloading. We also offer loading dock shelters, leavers, lights and truck restraints.

4. Mullions

Extra-wide openings may require several doors that are separated by mullions. You might also want them for aesthetic reasons. These allow you to operate each entry separately. If you need the full range of your opening, carry-away, roll-away and swing up mullions are easy to remove.

5. Insulation

While some of our models advertise energy efficiency, many more offer insulation options. Insulation upgrades offer weatherproofing, sound muffling and increased durability. Browse our products or ask us about our insulation options for your favorite models.

6. LED Warning Light Systems

High-traffic or commercial vehicle facilities often benefit from warning lights. Large vehicles can be difficult to maneuver, especially when backing up. LED safety lights on either side of the door turn red and start flashing when the door is in motion, helping drivers know to stop and wait. When the doorways are clear, the LED light turns green to let vehicles know it is safe to enter.
